Mentorship

Hello MPI-GCC Membership!

We are pleased to announce the return of the MPI GCC Mentorship Program for 2017-18. Following the success of last year’s program, we are even more excited to provide this service to our membership once again this year.

For those unfamiliar with the program, we will match interested Mentors with Mentees across our membership. There are no hard and fast rules to who a Mentor or Mentee is or can be – young or old, new to the profession or a seasoned veteran, having worked in many fields or focused on one single area – we encourage anyone with the initiative to teach or learn to enroll!

The timelines for this year’s Mentorship Program are as follows:

December: Mentors and Mentees connect via phone/email to discuss scheduling and expectations/goals for the pairing
January 2018 to June 2018: Mentor and Mentee meet 1-2 times per month, or as availability allows

While there is certainly a broad framework for the program, as the GCC Leadership we really don’t want anyone to feel boxed-in. These relationships can be formal or friendly, have well-defined goals/expectations or simply act as a sounding board for industry colleagues. Meetings can be frequent or infrequent, last hours or mere minutes over a coffee, whatever your individual schedules allow for. This program is truly what the participants make of it; to borrow and old cliché – you get out, what you put in!
